Doona newborn insert

My friend gave me her Doona but it’s missing the newborn insert and I so t really want to pay £50+ to buy from the doona website.

Does anyone know what other car seat inserts are compatible with the doona?

You can't swap inserts between car seats, it has to be the same one as others won't be crash tested with it.

You could look and see if you can find a second hand one for sale but it's got to be a proper Doona insert.

Join the group 'preloved to reloved for postage uk' on Facebook and post a request for one on there

As Bertie said, you can’t swap between seats for safety reasons.

I wonder if the preloved admins would approve that request, expecting an item worth £50 for free would likely fall under rule 7 of reasonable requests only. @Lalala0

Have you tried 2nd hand sites like eBay? Vinted? Personally I would save up and buy new, you’ve gotten a free car seat, £50 for peace of mind is a no brainer for me. Save up a little each month.

It's not a completely unreasonable request, as the car seat itself could get damaged by a crash or just wear and tear but the inserts (and covers) are still fine to pass on in this case, though I don't know how widely known this is, people might just assume that it's better to throw the whole thing away.

Also sometimes people end up with extras as it's a common part to lose between children, if you then ordered a new one, and subsequently found the original you'd have two.

It doesn’t matter if you think it’s reasonable, I was stating the rules of said Facebook group. You know best tho hin.
