DS was 4 in September. he's been in an axkid minikid but is increasingly saying its uncomfortable.

Any personal recommendations please? Budget about up to 150 though the Diono looks v good and is much cheaper!

The Diono ones are meant to be great and roomy. You don't have to spend a lot on a decent HBB.

If crash test ratings are important to you, Britax, Joie and Cybex are the board leaders (Joie for cheap - with Cybex/Britax it's their premium models).

Axkid also have a HBB - the Bigkid.

We've had Cybex and Britax ones and I liked them. Currently using Britax Advansafix (which is similar to their kidfix models) and I'm not that convinced by the little crotch hook thing - all the experts rave about them but I'm not sure it's necessary for good belt position.

Would recommend trying in a shop if you have the option as children are different shapes/sizes.
