Isofix HBB and front seat.

Can I use a HBB that has isofix in the front seat without isofix? The isofix bar is adjustable so goes into the seat.

We will have 3 in a Volkswagen Touran the problem I have is we have a Britax romer kidfix and the side impact protection doesn't come off so it makes the side quite a bit wider than it would be if it screwed off!

Yes you can. The isofix in high back boosters is optional. However before you put one in the front I'd check whether your car allows car seats in the front and whether the airbag should be on or off. It's not ideal to have a child in the front so I'd choose the tallest especially if it says airbag on.

The side impact protection should screw in closer to the seat so that it takes up less space, although I appreciate that is still some space. Is it a car where you can move the individual seats forward and back? Offsetting the seats might help them fit together. Or possibly replacing the one in the middle with a seat where the side impact parts come off or are at a different height, or even a backless booster if the eldest child is old enough, or an extended rear facing seat for the youngest?

@BertieBotts thank you! We will have a Joie spin 360, Cybex Z baby carrier with base and the hbb! Hoping they will fit along the back together but for the first few weeks I will need to sit with the baby due to having a c-section and not being able to turn round, eldest will be in school anyway so will only be for short journeys at weekends and then hopefully she can go in the back with the once iv healed!

The seats do move so I will try that also thank you Smile

Ah sorry, I thought you meant you'd have three of the Kidfix seats :)

I would have thought it will be tricky to squeeze in the middle after a c-section?

If you can turn off the airbag, you could belt the baby carrier in the front seat as another option.

I had the Britax isofix HBB kidfix and used it without the isofix in front seat occasionally when other passenger configuration needed it to not be in the back. Just made sure I turned off the airbag.
