Lost newborn inserts for car seat!

Between last child and new one arriving soon we seem to have lost the newborn inserts for our stage 1 carseats! Any ideas, I've seen a load of universal newborn cushion inserts online but are these safe? Or does it need to be the originals?
(I've emailed the company to see if you can buy just the inserts, no reply yet...)

Correction, stage 0 car seat...

No it needs to be the proper ones. The universal ones aren't crash tested with any seat so they might introduce slack into the harness.

If it's a Joie seat you can order them on www.joiespares.co.uk but I don't know about other brands. Check their website for accessories.
