Car seat adaptors

Hey, just wondering if someone could bring some light to my absolutely fried brain....we're expecting baby no.2 early December, although midwife is adamant little one will be showing their face sooner for being so low🥴

anyway.....we have our silver cross simplicity car seat from our first daughter so will be reusing that for baby. Our daughter has a joie 360 spin car seat at the moment and we find neither of the seats fit behind my partner when we drives as he's tall so has the seat quite far back.....the 360 will fit but little ones legs are squashed up and she absolutely refuses to sit with her legs crossed/bent up as it's uncomfortable for her.

The plan is to see if the silver cross baby carrier will fit a little higher with an isofix base (as we just used the seatbelt last time) so baby would go behind drivers side. We have a 2017 Kuga and honestly for a bigger type car, space is restricted!

My in laws have a Cybex Aton Base 2 if I'm correct on the name of the base🤔 That we was going to try.....does anyone know if it is compatible with the baby carrier and if there are adaptors id be able to get and it still be safe? Car seats are defo not my forte🤦🏻‍♀️

Will be buying our daughter a new seat otherwise that isn't as bulky as the 360.

I think most aren’t universal ie cybex base will only fit cybex seats, silver cross seat only silver cross base. Some aren’t designed at all to fit on base only seatbelt

Yes you'll need the Silver Cross base for your car seat, or a Cybex Aton 5 for that base.

I assume when you say leg room is an issue in the Joie she's rear facing? If so, I'd look at Axkid Move or Britax Max Way Plus. Both rear facing to 25kg, less bulky than a spin seat and have better leg room for the little passenger. With two children this is economical as well as it frees up the Joie spin seat for your baby when they grow out of the baby seat.

You might even be able to fit the baby seat in the centre next to one of these two (although you wouldn't need to if it takes up less space, I suppose.)

The base is bigger than the seat though, give em the seat would slot into a base so I'm not sure how that would work to save space
