Doona - Cosy toes/blanket/muff

Hello I'd like to get a doona, baby is due in Jan and wondered if anyone has any recommendations On a cosy toes. I seen the doona one comes in at £99 but you can get universal ones on Amazon for much cheaper.

Any advice on if a universal one is just as good a fit or is the doona one really worth it?

Baby wouldn't be in it for long given that it's not meant for long use but would want to keep them warm in the car and when out in it.

Any opinions on the doona itself?

Sorry I know this is late but next do a lovely car seat blanket for around £15

The universal ones aren't shaped to fit the car seat harness so aren't recommended as they can affect the fit of the safety harness, which needs to be really snug to do its job. Unfortunately that does tend to make the official ones £££!

I've always just put a blanket on over the straps.

Doona seems to be a really practical solution from everyone I know who has had one. It doesn't replace a proper pram but is great if you'll get the use from it.
