Hia! Car seat Advice needed please.. I’ve posted this on a few groups and yet to find anyone 🙈

Does anyone have. A Joie 360 spin in a Peugeot 208 3 door car? Or have a suitable car seat recommendations please?

I ordered a joie ispin (I thought I ordered the 360 spin but it was the 90 degree spin one so it doesn’t work in my car, luckily going to use it in my partners)

I’m thinking a spin seat as I want to keep my little one rearward as long as possible, I thought I could put him in forward facing and spin it round?

Thanks! 🙂

The Cybex Sirona S spins all the way around. Lovely seat but not great for tall children.

I think that's a great idea. I'm extremely happy with the Joie 360 Spin. We upgraded to a 5-door before we got the seat but I know how uncomfortable it can be to get a child in a 3-door. Another option could be climbing in the back seat with your DC, with the seat spun to the side so you can put him in from a sitting position before spinning him rear-facing IYSWIM.

The problem with both the original Joie 360 and the Cybex Sirona is that the spin release button is on the spinning seat, at the child's feet, so when they are rear facing, it's hard to reach without getting all the way in the back which obviously defeats the object of having a spin seat.

The ones which have the spin button on the base of the seat make more sense as they are always accessible. That list is:

Britax Dualfix (i-size version is better from newborn)
Joie i-spin 360
Maxi Cosi Mica
Besafe izi turn B (you need the B version from newborn)
Maxi Cosi Axissfix (but only rear faces up to 87cm)
Silver Cross Motion

The other problem with spin seats, as you may have found in your car, is that the backs of them can protrude out quite a bit and in smaller cars they touch the wall where the door would be and prevent you spinning it. Ideally I would recommend to try out seats in your car before purchase to check this. Do you have time before the birth to wait for things to open up a bit more in order to do this?

Thank you for your reply, my little one is 10 months old and getting awkward to carry in his other seat so no time to wait and try it in my car unfortunately 🙈 think I’ll order the joie 360 spin and hope for the best 🤞

You will need the i-spin, not the original 360 spin.

BertieBotts · 08/02/2021 17:51

But it's the same size as the spin safe which you have in your DH's car, so you can try it in yours and see whether it's possible to spin it to the side facing the middle of the car, even though it doesn't go more than 90 degrees.

I thought you were looking for a seat from newborn for some reason!

In that case I would also say it's a good idea to have a look at your little one's centile - a seat up to 18kg or 105cm like these listed will last an average sized child until about 3-4 years, if they're big for their age sometimes only until 2.5-3ish. If that's too early for you to want to forward face and/or you don't have top tether in your car, you will want to look into seats which can rear face up to 25kg, as these will last your little one longer.

Hi- did you manage to find a car seat? We ordered the 360 (not I size) and really struggle with it in our 208 3dr. Looking to change 😩😩
