Nuna Pipa Lite LX - what are these extra inserts for?

Hi,

A little while ago I bought a Nina Pipa lot LX car seat for my daughter due in March.

I was just having a practice with the seat and was a bit confused by the fact there is two padding inserts. A grey one and a white one.

Initially when I purchased the seat I had presumed that one of these sat inside the other to make it nice and snug for a small newborn and as they grew you would remove one.

However, there is no mention of this in the instructions. Is one simply a spare?

I have uploaded a photo here:

Also, does anyone what that extra black thing is for? I have the full Nina Mixx travel system so it might be from another part.

Thank you!

This seat includes an organic cotton insert so I assume that’s what the white one is Smile

So are you saying that they grey one is just a normal cotton insert and the white one is an organic cotton insert and that is the only difference?

Yes, that’s the only difference from what I’ve read about it

Brilliant, thank you. This makes sense now ☺️.

Also, I have read that you can remove the inserts when the baby is a bit bigger. Is this correct? It seems like it would be quite hard and uncomfortable without the cushioned inserts.

Yes, insert’s are recommended to be removed at circa six months old. There’s also a “low birthweight pillow” inside the insert which actually makes the recline flatter for a newborn but can be removed so that the insert can be used for longer. I felt the same with removing insert albeit on a different car seat, DC was fine without it and actually fit better in the car seat that way!

Nuna seats usually come with a spare set of covers for the toddler size, so perhaps this is the equivalent for their infant seat!

Thank you, makes sense Smile
