2/3 car seat for boy

My nearly 4 year old is outgrowing his rear facing car seat so I’m looking to buy stage 2/3 high backed boosters. His 5 year old big brother is still in his, so we need extras. Back then I got some maxi cosi Star Wars ones quite cheap. Ideally I’d get something with a novelty element, but not to compromise safety or pay a fortune for it. Anyone seen anything suitable?

Apart from the Maxi-Cosi ones you mentioned, there aren’t really any character child seats that are safe. Those ones that have Spiderman/Frozen etc are made by a cheap brand called TeamTex which get rather bad on safety so avoid. Maybe one in his favourite colour? Cybex Solution X have some nice bright blue ones, quite a few of the main brands so Maxi Cosi/britax/joie have them in different colours so maybe let him choose (out of one of your options of course!)Smile

Thanks, I suspected the Ironman etc ones for £70 might be rubbish.

Yes unfortunately those ones really got crap scores, the ones where the hands are the cup holders, it fell apart when it was crash tested at 40mph by Which!

Joie do a Liverpool Football Club set if any use to you, they're a good brand and their boosters start at £60.

Cybex do a Ferrari themed set, but it's more expensive than their normal stuff - aimed at adult car fans, I think, rather than kids. Start at about £150. Or if he's into racing cars at all, Recaro make booster seats but they also make racing car seats. Not a huge amount cheaper, but solid seats (I can see one for £110 on Uber Kids).

Kore pro by Maxi Cosi comes with a little light to help them see when they're doing up their own belt - gimmicky/cool? Expensive though.

Otherwise yeah - colours and/or cup holders seem to be winners. Maxi Cosi, Joie and Diono are good for cup holders. Cybex, Joie and Diono best for bright colours.

Thanks Bertie! I’ll see if I can find any in his favourite colour as you and teaandlotusbiscoff have suggested.
