I’ve just tried to install my britax seats In my new car, it’s technically a seven seater because the boot has mini seats (Audi q7) there’s a big gap between the britax car seat and the seats of the car, they recline and I’ve pulled the recline (on the Audi) right up- firstly is this safe? I think they care in the middle recline position, this made the gap a bit smaller, but there’s still a gap and it worries me. These days there isn’t even a nice person at mother care I could ask. Do Halfords offer advice on this- it would be cheeky as I’m not buying anything. Help mum set! Tried installation videos but they don’t seem to help. Pic for reference

Take your car headrest off and either store it in the house somewhere or put it back in back to front. It's pushing your booster forwards and causing the gap. It's better for the booster to be in contact with the seat back.

You're right to pull up the recline on the seat it's installed on :)

Thanks for the reply, the head rest doesn’t seem to come off easily, I googled it and you have to take the plastic cover piece off and it looks very tricky, I’m thinking I might take it to Audi and ask them to sort it out for me.

Having seen this, I'd agree, go to Audi

Shock What a pain!!

To save you the issue just in case - I would send the photo to Audi and Britax, and ask their opinion. It might be that they say the fit is fine and you don't need to remove the headrest. On the other hand if they do say it's necessary you might have more leverage to get them to do it for you.

Yes will ring them, thanks every one. Thanks for the pictures CottonSock don’t think I’ll be trying that myself!
