Does a car seat like this exist...

I’m looking for a car seat which is suitable from newborn which has both a carry handle and a swivel function to make it easy to remove the baby from the seat.

Does one like this exist? I can find ones with either functionality but struggling to find one with both.

Cybex Cloud Z and the Z base is your answer! Swivels with the infant carrier and the Sirona can be added later, but bear in mind that it can be £410 for both base and seat. And that’s only one base!

The Cloud Z is great, I work in the nursery industry and we sells LOADS of them!
The Recaro Zero 1 Elite is another one to consider?

Thanks both!! I actually got the idea from the Cybex Cloud Z but unfortunately my partner has just upgraded his car to a Tesla and that and the Recaro are not suitable with his model ugh.

Yes those two work.

Why isn't it compatible with the Tesla? Surely that will have i-size seating positions, I can't imagine it wouldn't. I would contact Cybex and ask them.

I would say though, that with the carry handle seats, the rotation is a little bit redundant.

You normally put the baby into the seat in the house and at this point you can swivel it any direction that you like. It then clicks into the base in the car with the baby already in it. When you get where you want to go, you do the same in reverse. If you want to use the pram seat or carrycot instead of using the car seat wherever you are, you can always just unclick the car seat, balance it sideways on the base and unstrap the baby. Then the next time you use the car, do the same in reverse.

The only reason that the swivel is useful on the base IME is if you're going to use the compatible toddler seat, as none of the others swivel. But you can actually buy swivelling toddler seats with the swivel base built in for about the same amount as the Cybex Sirona Z, which is the toddler seat for that base, costs on its own. And if you have a second baby and want to use the base for both seats at the same time, you'll need to buy a second base, which is another £185.

Does anyone know if the cloud z seats would work with a range rover. it's the autobiography if it makes any difference. I'm looking to be able to drive within the next few months (if I pass my test😳) and will need seperate car seats for mine that aren't lugged about between car to car.

What year is your car, South?

Cloud Z seats have handles so usually people do carry them around. Do you mean you want a seat which is installed permanently?

imissthesouth · 07/10/2020 22:56

It's a 2019 one, I don't really want them permanently installed in case I ever change car, just I don't plan on moving it car to car, so looking for ones that I would just leave in my car.

BertieBotts · 08/10/2020 11:29

Oh, sorry, no, not actually permanent, what I mean is a seat that you just leave in the car and don't take in and out :) They are really easy to remove when you do want to, but if you want one to leave in the car I'd suggest one which goes up to age 4 as the Cloud Z only covers the first year or so and you'd miss half the features of it by leaving it in the car. I'll tag you in another thread about seats of this type.

Thank you so much!
