Recaro Monza Nova IS - toddler pushing impact shield off?!

Hi all,
Had to buy a new car seat online recently, obviously couldn’t get to a shop so had to get it online.
Got the Recaro Monza Nova IS, which my 18 month old seems comfortable in. However, he can push the impact shield half off, so it’s almost hanging off one side! This seems very dangerous but I can’t see anything we have done wrong when strapping him in. Is this something anyone else has experienced? Or with other car seats?

Are you tightening the seatbelt at both stages when you thread it through the guides? I have heard some children can push these off. Unfortunately if that's the case it wouldn't be a suitable car seat for him because as you say, it's dangerous if you were to crash. I'd go for one with a harness instead.

If you've had the car seat less than 14 days technically you can send it back under distance selling regulations. You might have to argue your case though as many retailers won't accept car seats back in case they have been crashed (seems fair TBH, but it's still your right to send it back).
