BABY-SAFE 2 i-SIZE / original Affinity pushchair

Does anyone know if there are any adaptors you can get to make the BABY-SAFE 2 i-SIZE (by Britax) carseat fit the original Affinity pushchair (not the Affinity 2)?

Britax have told me it isn't compatible, which is a bit of pain! Only their 'Baby Safe' one is.

Or does anyone know any other car seats which will fit the original Affinity?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you will find another seat that does - Britax seats have their own adapters. They're a bit more universal with the newer seats as they have a system called click & go, the same as the travel system attachments they use in the US, but the older seat although it also works with click & go adapters, looks like it fits slightly differently onto that older model of pushchair.

Hmm actually - that is strange - if you download the original manual, it seems to say it uses the click & go system as well, so I don't understand why it wouldn't work with the newer version of the BabySafe. Did they say why? It has the same adapters, so in theory it should just click in.

Obviously you can't at the moment, but I'd suggest going to visit a baby store with the buggy if you have time before baby arrives and asking whether you can just try it out!

Anyway, this is the list from the manual, but aside from the basic BabySafe, they are all discontinued models.

BABY-SAFE
• BABY-SAFE plus
• BABY-SAFE plus II
• BABY-SAFE plus SHR II
• BABY-SAFE Sleeper

Thank you BertieBotts!
I wonder if they just say that as they want you to buy the new pram. I'll ask them about the click and go adaptors. Might just buy the new babysafe carseat anyway and if it doesn't fit on the pram maybe its not the end of the world, it seems the new one is compatible with lots of other prams and we may upgrade at some point to something slightly more lightweight. Thanks again, I'll update if they get back to me about the adaptors incase anyone is wondering the same thing :-)

Yep - at least you'll know what to look for if you decide to get a lighter weight one! IME it's brands which are popular in the US which have the Britax adapters available. If you pick one that's only popular in Europe, it will usually only be Maxi-Cosi (and the hundred other brands which go on Maxi Cosi adapters - notably different to Britax!)

They said:

'The problem is that being an older retired pushchair the BABY-SAFE i-SIZE has never been tested and approved for attaching to the AFFINITY. The parts may well fit together but unless we have tested ourselves we wouldn't recommend doing it unfortunately.'

Will go for it and update as to whether it fits on.
