Swedish tests: Hauck iPro Baby - dangerous & test doll thrown out

Recent testing carried out by the Swedish Consumer Magazine "Råd & Rön" (like a Swedish version of Which magazine) found the Hauck iPro Baby to be dangerous. It scored 1/100

They repeated the test 3 times on different but identical models of each seat to test how they functioned in crash conditions. With the Hauck iPro Baby the seat attaches to a base which is securely fastened to the chassis but it failed the test each time:

  1. the straps broke and the test doll was thrown totally out of the seat and out of the test car
  2. the base broke
  3. the test doll's head moved dangerously which would have caused injury
The seat also contains a very high proportion of chemicals that cause cancer in animals The seat came in bottom place scoring only 1 out of 100 The article is in Swedish but can be translated to English. www.radron.se/livsfarligt-babyskydd

There is a video of the first test on youtube - shocking and scary
