Posted a while ago about ERF seats and chose to get Axkid Minikid.

The problem is that now DD(2) is somehow managing to get her arms out of the straps while we are driving. This has happened about 4 times in the past couple of weeks, even when the straps are pulled really tight. I've tried giving her into trouble, explaining it's dangerous etc and have had to pull over and adjust the straps.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on how we can stop her from doing this?! Feeling rubbish as I thought this car seat would help to keep her safe but in fact I feel like it's more dangerous because she keeps escaping

Got the same seat and had the same problem I contacted the in car safety centre and they suggested besafe belt collector. Problem solved for us

Don't worry, this is so common - she probably would have done this in any seat. It's difficult when they are really little because they just don't understand why they shouldn't do it, but it's so easy for them to do - they can just suck in their tummies and easily get their arms out. It's a problem with any five point harness that has the single point of contact (ie all car seats). Lots of children do this between the ages of 1 and 3.

The belt collector is a good idea. It's recommended by ERF specialists and doesn't affect the performance of the harness in an accident.

If that doesn't work there are other things you can try - moving her to the front so you can keep an eye on her (if you can disable airbag), a different product called five point plus, putting big rubbery bangles on her to create friction behind the straps.
