Hi we need a new car seat for my almost 17 month old... He had the baby auto multifix but it's faulty and the shop have told me the have had issues with the straps of another model by the same brand so now I need a new seat.
He is currently in the spin 360 at my mums but I have also seen the cozy n safe Excalibur which is £80 less expensive and has a harness to 25kg.. Ds is on the 90th centile for length and weight..
Would anyone have any tips or thoughts??
Thanks

As he's on the 90th centile, a 25kg seat is a much better choice as he will outgrow an 18kg seat around 3yrs so you won't get that much use out of the 360.

However, the Excalibur is forward facing only so is a very poor choice from a safety point of view. It's much safer to rear face until at least 4yrs when they can go straight into a high back booster. The Axkid Minikid, Britax Two Way Elite, Britax MaxWay, Axkid Move amor Be Safe Izi Plus are all much better options than forward facing him.

We have the cozy n safe Excalibur and it is a great seat BUT we didn't put our son in it until he was 3. It does require a tether for certain stages so check your car would take it OK. The 25kg harness is great though as my DS is also large and heavy.

At 17 months I would find a seat that could be rear facing for at least another year and then turned around.
