Recommendations for rear facing car seat

I'm after recommendations for a rear facing car seat.

My 20month old daughter is just below the 25th centile for height and weight (currently 9kg) and is still comfortable in her original baby carrier car seat. We have the kiddy luna fix which still has plenty of room left for her height wise and has a weight limit of 13kg. So everything is fine at the moment however we are expecting our second child in December so wanted to move daughter into a larger rear facing seat as soon as possible. Only problem is there are so many to choose from!

My parents have bought the joie stages for use in their car which my daughter is very happy in. I understand this rear faces up to 18kg which for my daughter won't be until she's 5 or 6, according to her red book. I was wondering if anyone had this seat and uses it rear facing for an older, lighter child.

We want to rear face for as long as possible so I am starting to wonder whether I should buy an up to 25kg seat like the axkid move (mini kid is unfortunately out of our price range at the moment).

Would a 25kg seat be pointless as my daughter is on the small side and would the joie stages be better for the long term? I understand no one can give me a definitive answer, just looking for other people's experiences. The world of car seats is a mine field.

Thank you

I have a similar sized child and I've gone for a rear facing 18kg seat for the same reason. She's only about 19lb now at 16 months so it will be ok for a long time. She's still comfortably in her baby seat and we've only bought the big seat for the sake of having 2 as we keep forgetting to move the car seat between cars.

As an aside - the joie 360 is on sale in a lot of places for £200

Thank you! Just looking at joie spin now. Hadn't even thought of looking at that one

I have the Joie Spin for my 11 month old GS. It's fab for the price. Is easy to get him in as obviously it spins to face the door, it can be declined a lot for if he's asleep, comes comp, eye with an ISO fix base which can be adjusted when he's bigger so he can be rear facing for longer. Well worth it.

I'd go for an 18kg seat in your case and I nearly always say get a 25kg seat!

Thank you everyone. My husband has decided he wants the joie spin so we will probably go for that
