Extended rear facing for a 2001 Astra

Hi, I've been trawling the net looking for an erf car seat for my Vauxhall Astra 2001. I liked the look of either the Britax two way or max way but don't see my car in the comparability list. Anyone got one of these seats in an old Astra or similar or can advise on an alternative? I have a budget of around £200. Thanks!

Your car won't be on the list because Britax won't have tested their seats in one - but that doesn't mean it's not compatible!

Having a quick look through the Car Seat Advice UK Facebook group, lots of people have fitted both the maxway and the TWE into 2001 Astras so you should be fine with either.

AFAIK the TWE is pretty universal so I'd be surprised if there was a seat it didn't fit but I didn't like to say that without checking! We've got one as our spare and it's fitted in everything we've tried it in. I've not tried a max way but I'm sure it's equally good. The only thing I know is that the TWE has a slightly taller shell if your DC is very tall.

Thanks! I'm sure it's a fit now. My little one is tall - and chunky - so that's even better that the shell is taller.
