Rear facing car seat for 98th centile 9 month old

Hi everyone, I'm sure this has been done but I couldnt find the information i was looking for in past mumsnet threads, not up to date ones anyway.

I really want a 9 month to 6 year car seat that is rear facing because of my daughters height/centile. The ones that go up to 25 kilo, but rear facing is a must for us.

I had settled on the Britax Max Way plus, but when Which reviewed the 'max way' back in 2015 they said although it passed safety tests they have put it on the not to buy list as there were just to many variables in the installation process that could go wrong.

I understand that is the older model but the plus is only different in the fact it has side impact protection. The installation to the car is the same

Any help much appreciated, even if its 'but a newborn to 4 year one and just buy another when she outgrows at 2 and a half Grin'

If that's my only option that's fine, safety before budget, but surely there's something out there wise mumsnetters!

Excellent! I'm so tempted to get the 2.0 even though I have absolutely no need...

I’ve the same issue with a 91st height baby, just bought the britax max way from pramworld- they had a sale on and was reduced quite a bit. They have a section on Swedish tested car seats and a logo if they are 25kg so you can easily see.
Installation took a while, just because it was freezing cold and I struggled to tighten the tethers and undo the seatbelt clips, but it was straightforward with the help of YouTube video. So far very pleased with it.

We have the concord Reverso plus iOS fix. It is ERF to 4years /24?kgs. It also passes Swedish safety tests. Have only ever had concord car seats.

@teaandbiscuitsforme now I do really want to get this one, fifty off is very tempting!

The baby and co shop in Bristol only have the minikid in stock for having a look so we are heading over there tomorrow, but I think my partner is pretty keen on the cheaper move model, even with the discount on the minikid its still 75 pounds less.

Agreed on the mumsnet reviews, not much help at all for a rear facing seat up to 25 kilo, I had searched here before posting and all the reviews were for toddler seats or seats up to 18kilo

But obviously I do want to basically just purchase the minikid online right now without even going to look Grin

The Move is a really good seat as well. It's basically the same once it's installed and unless you're moving it from car to car, you'd hardly be bothered that you have to tighten the tethers yourself rather than them self-adjusting. Also you have to adjust the headrest and straps to the right height for your child rather than it being automatic. So basically the Move is like every other car seat (apart from Axkid so fabulous), the Minikid is just a bells and whistles version.

I honestly think that whichever one you go for you'll be really happy with it and the Move/Minikid debate will soon be forgotten.

I found a discount code for another 15 pounds off so brought the Axkid Minikid 2.0 online last night after having a look at them Saturday. It came with the wedge free and some sunshades, but getting it for 285 was the clincher especially as we will probably have a 3rd baby.

Thank you everyone, cant wait for it to arrive. Its the most expensive thing we've ever brought really other then the car! Definitely the most we've spent on the baby as got everything else second hand (fabulous gumtree seconds).

Both myself and my partner agreed it was worth it in the end to spend a little more as we'd have it for years.

I got it from 'Uber Kids' and the 5 % discount code is Save5 if anyone else is interested (making it 285)

All the best to everyone and thanks again
