Britax Römer released its updated version of the ever-popular Dualfix earlier this year - the Dualfix i-Size.

We’ll be putting the new car seat through our intensive testing process in the coming months. In the meantime, MNHQ got the kids strapped in and belted up and took a good look at whether the new features delivered.

I appreciate that Mumsnet needs the revenue from these sponsored reviews but it would be much better for parents if MN could review car seats a bit more impartially and review a wide range of car seats.

• When will MN review a 25kg rear facing seat?

• Will MN add a disclaimer to every forward facing car seat review that the seat can never be as safe as using a rear facing seat?

• Will the review be conducted alongside impartial car seat experts so that they can advise on the safety and fit of the car seat? Reviews which focus on 'mum and the kids' and comment on things like fabric choice aren't really helpful to anybody.

This, taken from your review, is not true.

So many other inaccuracies in that review by that one really winds me up because you're suggesting that seatbelt fitted seats aren't as safe as isofix seats. A properly fitted seatbelt fitted seat is just as safe as a properly fitted isofix seat - the key point being properly fitted in each case.

Also, 'should fit until your child is 4 years old' needs the caveat 'if your child follows the 50th centile otherwise a 25kg seat would be a better choice as this seat could be outgrown much earlier.'
