Hello

Sorry for yet another post like this but if anyone has any suggestions I’d be very grateful!

I’m looking for a car seat to keep at my mums for when we visit ( prob only 4 times a year). It’s for my 3 1/2 year old - but he is small. Also need to be able to use in a car with his brother ( high back booster) and friend who is now in the car seat belt in the middle.

I was in a very bad car crash myself so am super nervous about these things, but equally don’t have loads of money at the moment. If anyone can recommend I’d be very grateful. I can’t decide whether to get just a stage 1 and then a high backed booster later.

He is car sick so faces forwards now - so don’t need rear facing.

There's a fantastic Facebook group called Car Seat Advice UK. Run by professional fitters. They have loads in the files section that will be of use, or when they open posting you can ask a question of your own.

Thanks Yorkie - will take a look

How heavy is he? Personally I'd go for a 25kg rear facing seat like the Britax Two Way Elite is you can. Should last a couple of years.

Sorry, missed the forward facing bit!

Thanks tea - yes he is quite badly car sick so we have decided on balance to turn him.

He is really light, maybe 14kg max. 20 centimetres as a baby. His older brother who is similarly small has only just moved into a high back booster at 5 1/2.

I'd get an 18kg seat then. I don't know much about FF seats but general advice is stick to the better known brands (Britax, Joie, etc) rather than own brand/character seats because they will have been put through more extensive safety testing.

Thanks tea.

I'd go for a Britax Evolve, you'll get a few years out of it with straps and it will convert to HBB when you need it to.

At 3.5 I wouldn't waste money on a stage 1 to be used occasionally that will be outgrown in 18mths.
