Nuna Rebel I size Plus v Brittax Dualfix i Size

Any opinions on which is best. I already have the older dualfix (not a model affected by the recall)

Britax seems to have an outstanding testing and safety record. The nuna rebel was recalled and is a newer brand.

I have a toddler and a baby on the way so I need anothet seat. Both of the above seem to have a better height that my original dual fix so plan is toddler goes in new seat. Baby goes in older dualfix.

I find it confusing shopping for car seats as everyone has sifferent advice. X

IMO you'd be better getting a 25kg seat rear facing seat for your toddler because both of those seats can be outgrown by height quite young. The Axkid Minikid and Britax Two Way Elite are good options.

This website is good for advice and their Facebook group allows you to post questions about compatibility with your car: www.carseatadvice-uk.com

Are those seats isofix?

The axkid seems to have the same weight limits-25kg

No they're not isofix. You can't get 25kg isofix seats because isofix itself can only hold a child of up to 18kg plus the weight of the seat.

Isofix isn't needed though, these seats are just as safe. In fact the Axkid Minikid is vastly safer than most as it is one of the seats that has passed the Swedish Plus Test. The Britax TWE couldn't be put in for that test as it can forward face (same applies to the Rebl and Dualfix) but it's an excellent seat. I have both seats and they are far more secure than any of my isofix seats have ever been.

We have a dualfix and it has just been recalled, they are sending us out a replacement car seat. If I could change it I could

Im aware of the dual fiz recall mibe is not affceted. The fault was found in 2 out of 80 seats and is a part thats not working exactly as it should. Brittax test seata over and abive standards so its not a worry for me

Do you know from your toddler's red book that they are going to not reach 18kg/105cm before 4 years old? Because if they are, you're going to need another seat after either the Dualfix or the Rebl before a high back booster anyway.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 25/03/2018 12:18

My girl is a dot. I doubt very much she will outgrow it before 4. The red book would only be an estimation. X

I've got a Nuna Rebl plus. It's a big seat and sits very high in the car. It fits my 16 month old and my 3 year old. My other seat is a maxi Cosi axxisfix and I do prefer that one for recline and harness.

I find it all so confusing and overwhelming x
