Hi.
The new guidelines for children remaining rear facing until 15 months are confusing. My nephew is well over the 100% percentile and looking for a rear facing car seat with a larger weigh limit. He is only 10months.
Can anyone recommend any they know?

Lots of car seats now rear face until 18kg or 25kg so up to about 4 or 6 years old.
For a 10 month old you might want one of the ones that grows with the child rather than just moving to a next stage seat.
Try having a look at the in car safety centre online.

Joie bold or cozy and safe Excalibur are good ones not sure how long they rf for but are harnessed until 6.

Maxi cosi pearl rear faces until 4 years old. However the current guidelines aren't a legal requirement as yet. We are choosing extended rear facing but you don't have to.

The Halfords website is really good at showing what's rear facing

If he's over the 100th percentile you might as well get a rear facing to 25kg seat as no 18kg seat will last him rear facing to 4 years on that percentile. Look at Diono Radian 5, Axkid minikid and Britax Two Way Elite.

We have the britax two way elite, it's a great seat and rear faces until 25kg. We are hoping it will last my 96th centile DS until 5. You can only get it from the in car safety centre.

Like unicorn says, you need a 25kg seat. Track his weight in his red book and if he's 100th centile, he will hit 18kg long before 4 yrs old. My son is 98th centile and will be 18kg at 2.5yrs - far too young for a high back booster (minimum 4 years).

Your best choices for a tall child are the Britax Two Way Elite or the Axkid Minikid.

We've got two minikids for DC. They're excellent seats.
