Be safe vs Cybex

Hi all,

I'm trying to choose between the Besafe Isi kid2, the Besafe Isi go Modular and the Cybex Sirona M2.

I want a rear facing for longer seat that has scored well in the more rigorous German / Swedish tests and which tests. Ideally it would swivel but I'm yet to find one that does that and is Isize and scores well in Adac tests. Neither the Britax and Maxi cosi could fit my daughters long legs when facing rearward....!

The original Cybex Sirona looks great except when front facing it has the shield which apparently failed the Isize rollover tests (hence its been removed on the mk2 version which is Isize)

So has anyone used any of the first 3 I listed? Was there enough leg room past 2 years to face rearward?

Thanks in advance!

There will definitely be enough leg room, they just cross legs. However, if your family tend to be tall, you might be better with the Besafe Izy. I think the sirona is one of the smaller seats on the market.

Thank you gallicgirl.

I wonder if anyone has advice on which is better the Besafe Kid2 or the BeSafe Modular?

Do you know about the In Car Safety Centre?

incarsafetycentre.co.uk

Even if you don't have one close to you, they are quite good about answering queries. If you're within an hour or so, I'd thoroughly recommend visiting them to ask advice and purchase a seat. They make sure the seat fits in your car properly and are a million times better than Halfords or Mothercare.

Oh that's really useful!! Thank you!

BeSafe IZi Kid is great and has loads of leg-room because of the brace. I think the shell is taller/less compact than the iSize Modular.

We have a besafe izi plus and love it! DS 3 still has LOADS of room everyone always comments on the space. He's comfortable. Despite not being isofix the seat when installed feels massively secure almost as though it's built into the car.
My parents have the original sirhona due to wanting the swivel because of their age. Also a lovely seat but far far less room.........

Thanks everyone. Have just bought the Besafe Izi Kid X2. Seems to be loads of room and the seat is really solid. Just fitted incar this evening so will try my daughter in it tomorrow. Fingers crossed she likes it! She's never faced forward so I don't see that she will object to staying rear facing and it sounds like it is so much safer that way.

Great Acer. Now I'm starting to second guess my choice to just get a different car seat when DS was 1,5...
Hope she likes it!

I have the besafe and a tall baby and we had to move from the first stage car seat earlier.

Apparently the longest extended rear facing car seats are not isize.

I recommend joining the Facebook page car seats for mummies and daddies and reading their pinned post.

If you're looking at the Cybex Sirona M2, might be worth checking out the GB Vaya. It's brand new out and made by a sister company to Cybex. It's very similar to the Sirona but has the added bonuses of a slightly bigger shell (hopefully longer rear facing) and a 360 swivel base (which was removed in the new M2).

Lemondrop99 · 02/08/2017 00:56

Sorry just saw you've always bought a seat. Never mind Smile

IronMuppet · 10/08/2017 17:11

Lemondrop do you have a GB Vaya?
Saw it in Mothercare today and almost bought it, but can't find any reviews on it yet, it's such a new seat. Got them to demo-fit it and it actually fitted into my tiny car (Yaris) better than the Joie 360, even though it looks bigger! Very tempted.
