Dalesgirl16 · 04/06/2017 16:36

I have a tall 7 month old and we are looking to buy car seat number 2. Need it to rotate so I can get her in and out of the car easier. Please recommend one that is amazing as I don't want t make a costly mistake!

Love my brittax dualfix

ITMama1 · 04/06/2017 16:42

Joie 360° swivel for us. Love it.

chipscheeseandgravy · 04/06/2017 16:49

Joie 360. £250 so not cheap but should last till baby is about 4 ish. Also Has a built in isofix on both rearfacing and forward facing.

Dalesgirl16 · 04/06/2017 17:08

She often cries when we put her in our current maxi cost pebble plus so hope these are much more comfy

Maxi cost axxis (sp) brilliant! Has done 2 boys.

Brittanyspears · 08/06/2017 12:46

I researched on which? as i have a very tall 9 month old. And liked the axxiss, cybex cirona and britax dualfix. Just ordered the axxiss- on offer at mothercare atm Smile

Doublechocolatetiffin · 08/06/2017 12:53

I have the recaro zero.1 which I think is brilliant. Very easy to use and will last up to 4.5yrs.

Have a look at the (twee sounding) Car Seat Advice for Mummies and Daddies group on FB, the advice is very good.

Ideally, your child should stay harnessed (and some would say rear facing) until 4 years old, the minimum age they'll be physically and emotionally mature enough for a high back booster.

The problem you'll have is that most of the "new" swivel seats available are iSize, with a maximum height of 105cm. If your child is due to reach this height before the age of 4 then you'll need to move them out swivel seat and into either a HBB, or buy another harnessed seat, so a swivel seat may not be the most cost effective option.

I would suggest looking at either the Britax Two Way Elite or the Acid Minikid. Neither swivel, but they are both good seats for tall / heavy children. Rear facing seats are often easier to get children into than Forward Facing, because of the way the car doors open, so you'll have more space to buckle them in. You'll also find that it's not long before your child is capable of climbing into the carseat on their own too, which is much easier on your back.

Oops, Axkid Minikid!

9 of the best rotating car seats

I'm thinking about getting the Jané Gravity but it hasn't been tested by Which yet - it must be new.

Lemondrop99 · 02/08/2017 00:46

We were going to get the Recaro Zero 1 but it doesn't recline very far so we didn't feel comfortable putting a newborn in it, particular as our sloping back seats made it even more upright. Looks like a great seat from 1-4 years though.

We've gone for the GB Vaya. It's brand new out and made by the sister company to Cybex. It's 360 swivel and i-size (unlike the new Cybex which doesn't swivel), and has a bigger shell than the Cybex Sirona.

Lemondrop99 · 02/08/2017 00:47

We looked at the Joie 360 too but we're out of that it wasn't i-size

@Doublechocolatetiffin
Please check the serial number as some of them have been recalled - info here:

@Lemondrop99
Do you know/remember how much bigger the GB Vaya is compared to the Cybex Sirona? Just wondering how much extra growing room there would be.
We've bought the Sirona (the old model that swivels) but I'm wondering if it's worth returning it and getting the Vaya instead...

carseatmum · 25/05/2018 17:26

I think the latest swivel car seats from Cybex are great. I'm really tempted by the Sirona S

Has anyone tried the LETTAS baby car seat, the one that rotates and goes up to 12 years old? Thanks

teaandbiscuitsforme · 22/01/2019 18:34

The LETTAS only rear faces to 9kg which is much less than most infant carriers (13kg) so it's not a good seat.

Recent legislation advises rear facing until 15 months which is likely to be more than 9kg so it doesn't even fit that target which is fairly low. Rear facing until at least 4 is the safest option.

NonaFloss67 · 22/01/2019 19:39

Thanks for the info
