After what feels like months of car seat research had finally decided on izi kid x2 for it's excellent safety results. Went to try it out yesterday and the retailer recommended the modular instead arrghhhh!!!! Please help me before I drive myself even more crazy thinking about car seats. My baby is 9 months, 9th centile weight, 25th height. Seat is going in a Qashqai and partner is 6 ft 4. I definitely want a BeSafe seat. Understand Modular is more compact but it doesn't have just as good a safety rating although it was still given 'good' in ADAC testing, don't know if I'm just getting ridiculous with safety scores and the modular is still an excellent seat and I'm acting as if it's crap compared to the izi x 2 I know I'm a nutcase . When used RF only the modular combi is the the same as the modular RF according to BeSafe facebook page. Can anybody advise me so I can finally buy a seat today? TIA!!!

I definitely want ERF so doesn't have to be a combi seat - should I just stick with the izi kid x2? I know it's a bit bulkier and doesn't give ff option but I really want baby to rf as long as possible. I know modular gives the option which is why retailer said go for it but baby doesn't know any difference as rf just now anyway. If anyone has either seat would be good to hear your thoughts.

We have the iZi Kid iSize, which I love. We got it to replace our Combi X3, which was involved in a bump - I think the only differences are that the Kid doesn't ff, but it does move on it's isofix legs so that you can adjust your child's legroom slightly. IIRC, the modular one was a more compact shell and wouldn't have lasted our son as long. Am I right in thinking that the modular also has to go on a base?

I'd stick with the one you wanted - seems the advantages of the other one don't apply in your case. Just had a nosey on carseat.se (where we got our ERF seat from) and they don't sell the modular, but do sell the kid x2, and they seem to know their stuff :)

We have the modular and like it. We only use it rear facing. My son is 2 and seems to like it. I am useless beyond that as haven't even seen the other one! I suppose you might be slightly future proofing with the Modular - with the best will in the world although you want to erf as long as possible, it may become desirable at some point.

How did this fit in your Nissan quashqui? Do you have any baby head flopping forwards issues when they fall asleep?

Hi there
I'm currently torn between the kid x2 and the modular so would like to know what you have opted for?!

Bumping this thread as id like to know how you got on with the Be Safe kid2? Was there enough leg room for an older toddler?
