Honda civic, affordable rearfacing?

Currently use a britax maxway but had to replace the car and we now have a 2008 civic. The maxway is not compatible so we have to buy a new seat. We are on a budget as we didn't plan on replacing the car let alone the seat. What affordable seat will fit that rearfacing as long as possible ? Looking at joie stages at the moment but it seems to have been replaced by the every stage which is pushing it cost wise.

Britax two way elite will go in almost anything except a Toyota Aygo/Citroen c1or a new skoda Octavian vrs (needs passenger seat headrest not to be molded as solid part of the seat but be adjustable like any normal car is)

I have this car. I have a maxi cosi pebble plus (eBay bargain) I think the base is compatiable with the 2 way pearl which lasts until they are 4.

The Stages is still available and out of the two seats (Stages and Every Stage) I prefer the Stages. I own a Stages and have borrowed an Every Stage from a friend, the Every Stage is more reclined than the Stages (great for a baby, but a bit too reclined for my 4 years 8 month old - she's petite so still rear facing!).

Lots of places sell the Stages, it should be easy enough to find somewhere with it for you to try it out. Just be aware of the alternative method of getting it fitted in the car rear facing which will help if the seatbelts in the car are a little short. I think that's quite common, I have to use that alternative method of getting the Stages in and my car is a big Peugeot 5008 MPV.

Thanks. I have ordered a stages from halfords. Ds is 3.6 so will keep him rearfacing for a bit yet so it seems the best buy for now.
