Hi, we have a Britax evolva 123 which I love. My just turned 3 year old is a broad lad who weighs just under 3 stone and is 104 cm. Britax say the 5 point harness is upto 18kg but he feels too young to safely move onto the cars seat belt.
Am I being pfb or can I leave him in the 5 point?

You can't leave him in that 5 point but he should really be in a harness till he's 4. There are several car seats that harness to 25kg. Most rear facing but 4 forward facing, which are: britax two way elite, cosy n safe excalibur, diono radian 5 and britax advansafix.

Thing with 5 point harness is the next stage up is a seat belt one. It is more about height than weight. Wouldnt want seatbekt to rest anywhere in wring place on body would hurt him.

Also means alot easier to get out of. Most 3 years olds I know would be undoing seatbelt and playing all the time. Really dont want that to happen hurtling down motorway at 70.

Just few thoughts...
