Can anyone recommend an affordable and safe extended rear facing car?

Any of the Joie seats, they all rear face to 18kgs. The Tilt is the cheapest, but isn't very big so will only accommodate an older toddler if they're smaller than average, then the Steadi, then the Stages (converts to a high backed booster for use up to 25kgs) then the Every Stage (converts to a high backed booster for use up to 36kgs). They also do an ISOFIX one, the I-Anchor Advance.

I think the Joie seats are amazing quality. I have a Stages.

Or the Britax Max Way and Two Way Elite are about £220 but will keep your child rear facing to 25kgs (you might need this if your child is on the upper centiles for height or weight, otherwise you'll be faced with an 18kgs 3 year old who is too young for a high backed booster but who has outgrown their harnessed seat).

Oh thank you. I'll take a look at these joie seats and see what I think first.
