Does anyone have the Joie Trillo?

Looking at this - the high backed booster.

Can you tell me please:

Would it suit a tall child (130cm aged 7. Law is boosters to 150cm in Germany where we live. He's not likely to last in the Cybex one we have.)

What is up with the weird isofix connectors? Do they work to hold it rigid? The whole point we want to upgrade to isofix is that we have a small car and when Ds gets into the seat it moves around and makes the belt connecter hard to reach.

Sorry no experience but was looking at this the other day for DS (3). Reason being we do a lot of long journeys and isofix is safer, plus like you say as they climb in it moves the seat and then can't find the belt hole. I was attracted by the price for isofix too, it was only £50 online at Boots! I have heard the Joie Stages is very good but not seen a review for the Trillo.

It would also be really helpful if you can extend it to the highest level and measure the height of the backrest, but that might be too much to ask :o

I've got one. I've never used the isofix as its swapped from car to car so often. I've been really really pleased with it. My 7 year old is about 125cm. It's got a nice narrow base so she can do the belt up herself.

We have one each for our 6 and 3 year old sons for DH's car. They do move about a little bit more than the usual Isofix connectors, but not that much that it causes any problems, certainly not like a seat with no Isofix. They were only bought to allow DH to pick up the boys from school/preschool so haven't been tested on a long journey, but the boys says they are comfy.

Ooh narrow base is defo a plus. Thanks HopIt! Can it extend quite a bit more? We had the Britax Adventure which looked as though it would go really high and I assumed they were all like that, but it got damaged on a flight so we got the Cybex instead and there's no way it will extend another 20cm.

The Joie Trillo is the only isofix one I can find for under €100 in Germany. Full tax (19%) on car seats here, it's a killer.

Although now I think about it - unsure how much of the growing between 130cm and 150cm will be in the legs and how much in the body

Our fancy expensive one got damaged as well and this was the replacement. I've been so pleased especially as it was £30 in toys r us vs £250 for the previous.
Most importantly the safety was good. Right I'm off to find a measuring tape. It does extend far higher than we need at the moment though

Right child is 125, and the car seat fully extended from top to bottom (measured on the back which in hindsight you probably wanted to the seat where their bum goes) is 83cm.
Cup holders are a bonus. If I remember rightly the back comes off so it becomes a booster when the time is needed

I've just measured that against DS taking a bit off for the seat and it looks good. Thanks! I think I'll go for it. DH will think I'm mad getting another one with extra side padding but oh well

I have a bit of a thing about car seats and I've been so pleased. The cheapness of it actually put me off. But it doesn't look or feel cheap and dd finds it comfy.
The side things are great to stop their heads wobbling about when they have a doze so I'm keeping her in it as long as I can

What one do you have at the moment BertieBotts? Ordered the MaxiCosi Rodifix which arrived today, but it was £120 so I guess out of your price range (a grandparent paid!) But we still need another 1, possibly 2, so may well end up with the Joie.
MaxiCosi Rodifix impressions: good padding round sides and head. I like it has a belt router and it has a clip to hold in place too. It reclines (a bit) and the isofix is really really easy to access and install. Once I've tried the 7 year old in it I'll let you know how she looks.

Sorry meant to say - may well end up with a Joie Trillo as well if my mum gets for her car, will measure and me you know. Do you want Rodifix measurements or is that not on your list?
