DualFix Brittax car seat. Tips wanted please

have a brittax DualFix. I don't have a car seat that clips to pram I'm just looking for tips really.

I've realised that I will haveto.putpram up every time I want to nip in somewhere . Any tips for quicktrips.etc

Also I don't know if I can get straps to go tight enough on chest. I pull as far as they can go though. My mum joked thay I'd cut circulation off!

Had some difficulty loosening straps at times. How to do it. I've watched the video.

Mainly wanted tips about dealing with quick trips.

Also I didn't get anyone to fit my seat because I bought from supplier directly o contacted road safety officer at council because I was told they wpuld check seat but they won't.

After watching watchdog segment about shops fitting seats incorrectly I am a bit wary about whether it'd fitted correctly. All components are green though.

Just to clarify, are you saying you think you need an infant carrier (baby car seat) for quick trips? Or asking how you don't have an infant carrier? How old is your child?

Plenty of people manage without an infant carrier - you might need to plan around naps a bit more than others would, but you might also find that you have the kind of baby who doesn't even wake up when you take them out of the car to put them in a sling!

Where did you buy your Dualfix from? Can you contact them and ask them for fitting advice?

Britax do have YouTube videos on their various car seats - have you searched for one for the Dualfix?

No I don't have a typical car seat thay clips onto pram. I've bought the dual fix seat. But the realisation occurred to me that I won't just be able to nip in places.

I do have a sling but find that tricky at times. I'm not looking for a different car seat. Just wondered if those who have it have any tips to make shorter trips/pit stops seem a bit less so a chore.
Little one hasn't been in pram much and I gave to put wheels on base each time I want to use it.....

But surely you'd have to put the wheels on the base of the pram every time you clipped a car seat to it anyway?

What kind of sling do you have? IME some are MUCH easier to use than others! Do you have a aling meet or sling library anywhere nearby?

I have a stretchy wrap sling and it was great when DD was tiny because I could tie it round me at home before I got in the car, then when we got to where we were going I could just pop her in. If she did wake up during the transfer then being so close to me and the up and down from my walking soon put her back to sleep. I used to use it a lot, especially when going shopping (food shopping or just going to town for something to do which i did a lot in the first months!) even though we had a cabriofix that clipped on the pram.
TBH when they are under about 3 or 4 months I found that they can be moved when asleep without too much fuss. Get the buggy and everything ready and move them last, so you can immediately start walking which will hopefully soothe them back to sleep.
Once they get much older than this lifting the car seat out onto the pram gets harder as it gets heavier, and DD used to wake up even if the whole car seat was moved, so I tended to try and time journeys for naps so she could wake when we got there (or sit in the car at our destinationwaiting for a reasonable time to pass, that is if she didn't wake up as soon as we turned the engine off!).

Thank you. Yes I would have to out wheels up but some mums just carry car seat for reasons of time they're allowed to spend in them and money I didn't go for one.

I like my sling there is a library but I've just bought it so not in the market for a new one just now. X

You aren't able to carry the seat around for long or far anyway though.

You really can't carry a car seat for long, they always bash into your legs and they get really heavy with a baby in there. I agree with getting the buggy and yourself ready first, then move baby to pram and walk. For really short trips, either carry or sling.

Regarding the straps, there is a newborn insert and you should then be able to get them tight enough (remember to take off baby coats etc first).

Isn't the Dualfix isofix? If so it just clips in and all the indicators go green. should be easy.

ether just pop baby into a sling and go, or set up pushchair and put baby in last. There really isnt a quick way with a baby, people who carry the carseat then end up putting it down to do what ever they where going to do anyway. Popping in anywhere carrying a car seat ends up not being as quick as it would be if you pushed the baby. You can walk quicker if you are pushing the baby. Popping a car seat or carrycot on wheels takes the same amount of time. Moving your baby you will end up with a baby that is easily moved when they are asleep
