Hi,
I'm looking to get my DD a new car seat, she's currently in a maxi cosi cabriofix and isn't too large or heavy for it, but I never take it out of the car because it just feels too heavy and awkward to carry now she's a bit bigger (8months so I know I could get more use out of it, but I figure if the next one I get will work from her current size it doesn't hurt to move up now!)

I really really like the look of seats which swivel to make it easier to get baby in and out of, and am going to look at a maxi cosi axissfit tomorrow. However, I'm a little concerned that it doesn't rear face for as long as maybe I'd like (average of 2 years old? And then you have to FF it). Would the britax dual fix be better? Does this swivel to make it easier for me to get her in and out of! Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Also, I know the Axissfit is the new isize seat, what difference does this mean? Is the britax an isize seat?

And, so important I forgot to put it in my original post because I'm an idiot which is safest?

Originally I was very much in favour of the maxi cosi, but I think I may be going the other way now as the britax will rear face for longer. I do clearly need help though!

sigh

I also clearly mean axissfix, not Axissfit. I'm sorry, Dd has been poorly and I'm sleep deprived!

I tried a britax dualfix and its a lovely seat, swivels for access, looks comfy and preferred it to the joie I anchor we have. However it did take up a lot of space, OK behind me driving (5'5") but drivers seat didn't have much more space to go back + absolutely no hope of dh getting in front (6' long legs). Did keep it for dgp car and am quite envious! We also have a axkid minikid which rearfaces for longer and is an excellent seat (but also too big to put behind drivers seat).
Not tried the maxicosi sorry.
There's a Facebook group called car seat advice for mummy's and daddy's which is run by a variety of people with extensive car seat experience, seems quite active + good advice.

i size are the new regulations.

Personally I don't like the look of the axissfix because of the extra strap and tether, the lack of rear facing long enough and the lack of legroom for the child rear facing. Personally I don't like any of the seats that swivel. We have a dual fix in DH's car but there isn't a decent amount of leg room for DS, it's too low so he can't see out the windows, it's too upright after 13kg and I think it's generally too small. I can't see it lasting till 4 - rear or forward facing.

I have a be safe izi i size and it's brilliant. What about the nuna rebl caviar?

Thanks for the help and suggestions :). We ended up getting the dualfix because it rear faces for longer, she isn't tall and is in the middle weight wise so it'll hopefully lady until she's 3 and a half or 4. We also got £85 off yay!
