dual fix too upright

My son is rapidly getting towards 13kg which means going into the second setting on his dual fix. The only problem is that even on full recline it's really upright and I'm sure that as soon as he falls asleep his head will flop forwards. Has anyone else had this? Have a solution? We're planning on buying an up to 25kg belted seat RF seat at some point but was planning to get a lot more use out of the dual fix yet. My husband is very tall and has a bad back so the swivel is really helpful for him.

I had the same problem at first and had to keep pushing DD's head back when it flopped forward. She seems to have got used to it now and her head stays where it should be.

I think most of them are pretty upright anyway compared to infant seats. It should last you a few years and I wouldn't be without the swivel action thingy these days!

Are your car seats sloping? My parents have a Vauxhall Astra and most seats we tried were ridiculously upright because of it. In the end we went for the Joie Stages - with a belted seat it's possible to make small adjustments to compensate for the slope. We also have a BeSafe IZi Combi in our car, which wasn't too bad when we tried it in the Astra, but still more upright than it is in our Nissan.

I think some manufacturers make a kind of wedge to prop the front of the seat up and help compensate for the lack of recline, but to be honest I'm not sure how safe I'd feel using one.

I have a be safe I size in my car and it's absolutely fine reclines brilliantly. DH is getting a new car soon so hopefully the seats will slope less. It's going to be an Audi like mine and mine seem to slope less so fingers crossed. I'm pleased to hear about them getting used to it and not head flopping. DS sometimes head flops in it as it is at the moment so I don't hold out too much hope though. We are quite likely to end up buying a belted seat anyway as DS is high on the weight centiles so will likely grow out of it before I'm ready for a HBB but we were hoping he'd be able to climb in and out himself before then to save DH's back.
