Hello. I need to by the stage 3 booster car seat for my son. Its the one that is for ages 6 upwards and is just the base lifting the child high enough to use the car's own seat belts. I have looked at various ones online including amaxon, halfords, mothercare etc but there is not much choice and I felt the ones in halfords and they seem very hard to sit on and pretty basic (i think they were Graco ones).
Can anyone recommend a quality, comfy booster car seat please? Preferably with cup holder but not essential. I have realised that the ones my son's friends have are mostly ones that were part of a larger combination car seat stage high back booster seats and they seem to be much more cushioned and comfortable that the ones you can buy just as booster seats.
Many thanks!

I wouldn't really use a booster cushion unless there were no other option, they are not really the safest choice for a child of any age.

My son is 9 1/2, 141cm tall and average build, we have two different Britax high backed boosters and he uses either of those with no problem.

I don't think you can get particularly 'sophisticated' booster cushions, they're just to lift the child up to the right height so they don't have a lot of features or comfy padding!

He would be better off in a high backed booster as booster cushions offer no side impact protection. Britax no longer even make booster cushions

Get him a proper high back booster. Britax and Maxi Cosi have seats with good reviews. The buy one that goes into two parts like the cheap Graco ones

Get him one with isofix if you can. My son (who is well within the height and weight limit) was in a cheap HBB and whenever MIL breaked the back of the HBB would fall forward away from the back car's seat.

We have a Britax Evolva 1-2-3 high backed booster and DD loves it and happily travels for hours in it. It's suitable right up until 135cm when they can go just on the seat. This does not come apart though, so you use it with the sides and head rest until you stop using it altogether.

We never use a booster seat only unless we're in a taxi or other unscheduled ride (DD has a Trunki backpack that's also a booster seat). I feel that it's better for her to use a booster seat only in those circumstances rather than nothing, but for planned journeys she uses the high backed booster.

My brother is 7 and he is using a Cybex Solution Q Fix and my mum really likes it as do I. It's very padded, isofix and the head rest recline was great when we took a trip from Glasgow to London as he could sleep comfortably.
