Hi everyone, can someone help me? I am using a friends Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat and want to wash the cover for when my baby arrives in May. I have taken it apart and have two foam wedges. I know one is for the head support but is the other for under the baby's bottom. I have searched everywhere on the Internet and can only ever see the head support wedge mentioned!!! It's driving me crazy and don't want to "guess" where it goes :-(
I would be great full for any comment xxx

from what i remember theres only one foam insert, which goes into the removable head support to make the seat angle flatter for baby x

Thank you for your reply. Maybe my friend gave me two by mistake. But I'm sure it came from under the cover!

Oh god, you've properly taken it apart! The baby's head foam insert others are talking about fits on top of the covers.

Are there no videos on you tube? I took the covers off mine to wash between babies and there were never random bits if foam that came out. There's a possibility you might have completely knackered it.

I've not watch it but does this help?

Rachelg607 · 06/04/2015 09:22

My friend has two car seats, she thinks she may given me the foam part for the one she still has, which would make sense. I just want to be sure. Every video I have watched and every webpage refers to one foam wedge. They are exactly the same shape.

Do you have two covers? A big one that stretches over the whole seat, and a smaller one that both the foam inserts one go into. The smaller one is then the new born insert.

I've never taken the insert's cover off, but when it's in tact it has a wedge bit that goes under the bum, and then a round cushioned bit that cushions the baby's head.

Does that help?

Eatsleepwork · 06/04/2015 09:26

There is a wedge shaped one that goes on the bottom of the car seat (for newborns) plus the head support. I've only recently taken mine apart to wash it!

Rachelg607 · 06/04/2015 09:33

So do you have two foam inserts?

Hobbes, I have the head part and I have taken off the main cover. I thought the second wedge came out from under the main cover

You have two foam wedges there. You're only meant to have one. Your friend must have given you an extra by mistake. The wedge slots in the pocket under the head hugger bit.

Rachelg607 · 06/04/2015 09:50

Do you really think so? I've convinced myself it should fit under the main cover somewhere?!!

Yes I think only one foam wedge, for the bum, and then the head bit isn't foam. You must have two.

KatoPotato · 10/04/2015 11:41

I think you've got two! The wedge is removable from that pocket, and the head 'pipe tube thing' is non-removable from the insert?

Not been able to get on here for a while but just wanted to say thanks for all your comments x
