How should tiny baby be positioned in Maxi Cosi Cabriofix?

We have the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix for our 5 day old baby. When we left the hospital she looked quite snug in it but on our first outing out with her she looks tiny and unsupported by the head hugger.

Can anyone tell me how she should be positioned? Should the wedge/head hugger be pulled down so the head hugger does actually cradle her head? Doing this seems to cause issues with the straps though which would then start lower down her back which isn't good. Or will she just grow into the head hugger? Her birth weight was 5lb 12 so she's pretty tiny.
My partner went out and bought the car seat in a rush so I wasn't around to get any advice from mothercare and have struggled to find any info online on this - hope someone can help!

Thanks Smile

The shoulder straps should be at or just below her shoulders. You could put a rolled up towel each side of her to give her a bit more support. Dont over dress the baby as she could over heat stick to blankets after the straps are done up tight. Keep you outings with her in the seat as short as possible. It may be that she has lost a little weight since coming home, don't worry to much just make sure you look after yourself. She will fill out very quickly

I don't think the head hugger needs to totally hug the head. I'd make the the straps are right.

Thank you for your replies! I will try the rolled up towel on our next outing and we aren't planning on venturing too far anytime soon so will keep the journeys short x
