Hi, I'm not sure whether to post this here or somewhere else, so if you think it should be somewhere else please let me know!Smile

My husband and I are expecting twins in the summer, and have decided on the cybex sirona car seat. We are happy with our choice, and accept they are fixed seats we cannot carry, however what do we do instead?

Do people usually buy a sling or baby carrier for short trips where you dont want to use a buggy? (Think things like filling the car up with petrol, running into a shop quickly etc). I obviously wouldn't carry 2 car seats in, so I'm not missing that, but equally can't just pick them both up and carry them in. Really interested to hear what others do and any suggestions?

Sling.

For twins I would sling one, and hold the other in hand

Or sling one and get a small buggy for car like the babyzen yoyo 0+. It's folds tiny and handy to have a single if one of you takes just one out anyway.

If you need to go somewhere like doctors you can sling and carry them inside from car, then lay one down on folding changing mat on floor if you need to deal with other ie vaccinations

It is possible to tandem-carry twins in a sling - there's even a dedicated FB group called 'Twin Sling' if you want to do a search and ask to join.

I've only had singletons, sorry, so I won't offer any further advice for fear of being completely out of my depth! Grin

For filling up car with petrol I would leave them in the car btw. Many places have pay at pump now also.

Id sling one or both. I've never understood why people carry those seats everywhere , ours was really heavy even without a child in.

And yes pay at the pump for petrol, so much easier!

You could leave them in the car for something like paying for petrol.

For school runs/short trip into shop where you can't see car I would use a sling, or get the carry seats, and a compatible double pushchair frame and clip the car seats onto the pushchair frame.

But yes a couple of people I know who had twins used twin slings.

YY Oood - I don't get it either. The only time I carry DS2 in the car seat is into nursery to collect DS1 as I can put him on the floor while I sort DS1 out and he's slightly shielded from the other toddlers and dirty floor. Otherwise the car seat stays firmly in the car as it's bloody heavy.
