Car seats - group 1/2/3 or group 2/3?

Dd is heading towards the maximum weight for her car seat so I've started the painful car seat research process. I think the first thing I have to decide is whether to get a group 1/2/3 (9-36kg) seat or group 2/3 (15-36kg).

1/2/3 have a 5 point harness to 18kg then attach with adult seat belt. 2/3 are adult seat belt from the off.

As she'll (obviously!!) be over 15kg when she gets a new seat is there any reason to go for 1/2/3 rather than just straight to 2/3?

In case relevant out car doesn't have isofix.

Does her height play a factor in this?

Many thanks for any advice!

surely her current seat is ok until 18kgs? I would wait until she is 18kg and then get the 2-3 seat

Okay, regardless of her height? She's not 18kg yet but her eyes are almost level with the back of the seat so I thought that might factor?

what age is she? I would probably go for a 123 seat then if she is too tall for the old seat and then use the harness until she is 18 kg.

She's 3

Get the cybex Pallas or another with the bar and MUCH better than a 5 point harness reduces whiplash and if you put them in PROPERLY a they CANT get out at all!
