Besafe izi go - help please

Hi everyone, we got the besafe izi go with isofix base at the weekend as part of our uppababy vista travel system. We had the choice between that and the maxi cosi cabriofix. I have two issues with the izigo so far and I'm wondering if changing it for the maxi cosi cabriofix would resolve these?

  1. We have a small ford fiesta and to fit the seat with the isofix, the passenger seat has to be totally forward leaving very little leg room. Maybe it's the same with all rear facing seats and the maxi cosi wouldn't be any better or is the besafe particularly big?

2.despite lots of practising, I really struggle to get it off the uppa baby vista travel system. It takes me half an hour and very sore thumbs and the baby isn't even here yet!

Would really appreciate any advice as we do have a small window within which to change it for the maxi cosi cabriofix if it would be a better option for us.

I have this seat and Vista. Agree about the passenger seat but it may be the same with other car seats as never used any others as they all look a similar size/shape.

In terms of getting the seat off the frame we had some stressful attempts with a newborn but have now cracked it. The way I do is to release one side off the adaptor and then the other side and not try and do both together. Doing it this way have never had an issue getting it off.

It shouldn't be that hard to get off the frame - is it possible to take it back to the retailer and ask that they try, in a case it's a fault? We had an issue getting the seat unit off our Bj Versa before our baby was born and it went back to the distributor for a replacement.

Having said that, we never had a problem getting the iZi Go off our Versa. Are you struggling to remove the adaptors or the seat itself?

In terms of size, I don't think it's any bigger than the Maxi-Cosi equivalent, and personally I think it's better designed.

We had the cabriofix with our vista, and have to say we had a similar problem in our Peugeot 206. Didn't have any problems getting it off he vista base though.
