Need new seats?

I had a car accident on Friday and managed to drive head into a tree.

My boys were in high back boosters, DS1 is 138cm but was going to keep him in it until he's over 145cm.

Unfortunately DS2 didn't get restrained by the seatbelt and hit his mouth on the passenger seat.

I know the purists will say I need new seats, but do I really? There was no impact to them...

I'm thinking yes but cost and length of time DS1 will be in one but DH thinks no.

TIA

Yes I would. Ds2 obv wasn't tight enough in one if hit face on seat in front.

Your insurance should cover some of the costs.

I would be tempted to get an isofix one each as secured better.
Take a look at the concord transformer Xt ones or cybex

Yes I'm not sure if it's because he clipped himself in and the seat belt wasn't tight, or the mechanism failed to lock it or he was leaning over when it happened. It was a honda crv and we have had problems with the belts locking when trying to clip in. He's 6 so old enough to do it himself.

Will look at those seats thanks.

The good thing about the isofix means if one child isn't in car and car has accident then the seat is fitted so won't fly out and injure other passengers

I have wondered about that before. One of the seats is a kiddy pro and the seat belt clips in above the shoulder and DS1 wouldn't undo it when he gets out, so that would hold to a certain extent.

I've never had isofix car seats.

I've just looked at the price of new seats, replacing like for like, Wow!

The ones you linked Artandco are less money, thanks again for info.
