Klippan Triofix Recline ease of use

I am going to order the Klippan Triofix Recline as our second car seat for my mum and dad to use in their cars. It's a lot of money and I am just after some reassurance before I go ahead and purchase.

It will be used with Isofix in my mum's car and seatbelt in my dad's car. It needs to be easy to fit and swap between cars. For anybody who has this seat did you find it easy to fit? I am hoping it having a separate base will make it easier to handle than our Dualfix (I struggle to see what I am doing when fitting it).

I have spoken to somebody at the In Car Safety Centre and she said it sounds the best bet and would have been the one she recommended if I hadn't mentioned it. But I am going to have to fit it on my own which makes me really nervous. Even if I could travel to a stockist it would be in my car not my parents.

Hi Trenchcoat, did you end up getting the Triofix? We're in a similar situation to you at the moment

I am no where near an erf retailer and chose this seat and am very happy with it.
Like you say it's supposed to be one of the easier ones to fix in and is recommended if you need to change cars often.
I actually found it tricky the first time - the pictures in the handbook are rubbish so I would say give yourself plenty of time the first time so you can take your time. I have got used to it and it's no problem now.
One thing that I hadn't realised though is that the recline position has to be decided when you fix it in, so you can't decide mid journey to recline if your child has nodded off. I have it in the recline mode permanently but it takes up more room that way.
Shout if you have any other questions - in fact if you are near West Manchester I'd be happy to meet somewhere like trafford centre to let you see it...

There's a place in Poynton called Ladybugs that has some Britax ERF, and MaxiCosi 2-Way Pearl and Joie iAnchor at Mothercare, but other than that I can't find anything much to view locally, and certainly no Klippans. I also didn't realise that about not being able to change the recline mid-journey. To be honest I'm wondering if the Joie iAnchor might be a better choice, especially given that my husband will need to have it in the front of his van sometimes, and the Klippans are so big that they're likely to block the view of the wing mirror.

No problem - I also spent ages wondering and then in a moment of impulse just ordered it!
We also intend to use it sometimes in the front seat of a camper van but I would probably forward face it for those journeys.

Hello, I haven't ordered it yet, still dithering! Fortunately my son doesn't weigh 13kg yet so is still in the infant seat in my mum's car. That is very kind bouncinbean but we're not close to Manchester. It's a bit scary to just order it, the whole issue of car seats causes me so much anxiety.

I was thinking of waiting for the new Maxi Cosi but the top tether strap puts me off. The simpler the better I think.

Laquila I thought about the Joie i-anchor but was put off because I was told if was very upright. I like with the Klippan there is at least a recline option even if you have to set it first. We always have the Dualfix on recline because otherwise my son's head lolls forward if he falls asleep.

TELL ME ABOUT IT! I've driven myself nearly insane with this one.

Eventually we drove to our nearest ERF stockist (1.5hrs away) and tried the BeSafe iZi Plus and Britax Maxway in our car, having already tried the Joie iAnchor.

We ended up with the BeSafe iZi Combi Isofix (which can be belted ff). We can't find an ERF seat that we know for sure can be belted into the front of the van we're planning on buying (as we don't know what it'll be) and are also worried about an ERF seat obscuring the wing mirror. The most compact one we could find, the Maxway, is belted only (as no Isofix in van) and I just didn't feel as confident about it as I did the BeSafe. Whether that's because it's a smaller, less snug shape or just because it's belted installation, I don't know.

Anyhoodle, our reasoning is that's it's going to be rf Isofix in my car and my mum's car 80% of the time, and all things considered we feel safer with a ff BeSafe in the van 20% of the time than a belted rf Maxway in their that might obscure the mirror and won't even definitely fit.

Not sure why I'm justifying all this but it might be helpful to someone! :)

We're thinking of getting the Klippan Triofix, but there seem to be very few stockists in the UK - which makes me think, if it is so great, why isn't everyone selling it?!
