My average height and weight son has been in a BeSafe iZi Go up until now, but is starting to look a bit uncomfortable - his head is very near the top when his bottom's pushed back into the hollow of the seat, IYKWIM.

We'd like to keep him rear-facing but I'm a bit flummoxed. Possibly I'm still a bit spaced-out from the confusion and stress of choosing a sodding pushchair, over a year ago...

Anyhoodle, we have Isofix points but have always had the BeSafe belted. Which.com generally seems to rate most Group 1+ seats as safer if used with Isofix - should we take the plunge and buy an Isofix base? If we got a BeSafe one, would we be able to use the iZi Go with it for a potential second child, or are they different bases?

Are there any ERF seats that can be used with both belt and isofix, and which rf and ff?

Thanks very much in advance!

The next stage car seats that use isofix usually have them built into the seat so you would not need a base.

The Britax Dualfix can be FF or RF

Ahh that makes more sense, thanks November. I've been looking at the Britax Max Fix 2, which gets a good score from Which and also good customer reviews on their site. I didn't even know you could get ERF seats that go from birth to 18kgs...of course they don't mention that when you go to buy an infant carrier!

I've just bought ds3& 4 the joie stages, it's erf until 18 kg then turns into a hbb up to about 7 years.

Thanks Havana - a friend has that and really likes it, but I'd discounted it because of the Which review. Sometimes I think I get myself a little too bogged down in the reviews...

I've been looking at the Hauck Varioguard. I know Britax do a couple of Isofix ERF seats but my budget doesn't stretch that far!
