Car Seat Advice - MPX Travel System

Hi all... This is my first post so be gentle, i am just a man after all :)

I have been given a mamas and papas MPX travel system and it has everything but the car seat, does anyone know if there are any car seats out there that fit this system available. I think there is one called the prima viaggio but I've read some not too favourable reviews. Does anything else fit? I don't mind if it needs adapters to go with it.

Any advice would be very welcome, we are due on the 18th July and I really need to get this all sorted.

Thank You.

Hi,

I had an MPX travel system for my DS who is now 8. As far as I know, it's only the Primo Viaggio Mamas and Papas car seat that will fit on it.

You won't be able to get adaptors that will allow you to fit a different infant carrier - this is because of the way the Primo Viaggio fits on the MPX chassis. If you look at the chassis there is a metal bar that goes across the flat part where the car seat/carrycot/pushchair seat all fit on. On most other prams the infant carrier fits on two 'prongs' on either side of the chassis, and you can get various pairs of adaptors to put on the prongs so that different car seats can go on, but the MPX chassis doesn't have these 'prongs' either side.

Hope I've explained that ok! I never used the Primo Viaggio car seat on the pram wheels because it (the car seat) didn't fit my car (I stupidly bought the whole package because I loved the pram - it was a blue denim fabric - but didn't check the fit of the car seat before I paid for it!). My mum had it as a spare for her car, and I bought a Britax First Class birth to 4 years car seat. It never bothered me that I had to lift DS (and my two subsequent DDs) out of the car seat each time.
