Car seat for DS 3 - Need urgent advice -

Hi,
I'm looking for a car seat for my 3 year old boy. He's 33 inches tall but he is incredibly big for a child of his age as he weighs 25.5kg, his current car seat is no good anymore because he is over the weight limit for it and for the past few weeks I've been trying to find ways to strap him safely into the seat as the 3 point harness is too tight to fit around him. It has now reached the point where I cannot actually fit his body into the seat even if he tries hard to squeeze in. Does anybody know where i can find a decent car seat that has a weight limit higher than 25kg and that has plenty of space for the child ? I need urgent advice because I can't take him anywhere in the car until I get the new one :)

He needs to go into a high back booster.

Height and weight are exceeding the 5-point harness capability therefore he's not going to be safe if you have an accident.

Over 18 kg you need a high back booster or look at the Britax Two Way Elite or if you want to stick with a 5 point harness you are looking at getting a special needs seat like the Britax Traveller Plus High Back Booster Seat Felix

I have the isofix Jane Montecarlo with xtend cushion. It's brilliant, rally well padded and sold and will do him until he is out of car seats. In fact I like like it so much I have 3!( cover mine and DH's cars, for both boys!) www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/38/26626/jane-montecarlo-r1-isofix-car-seat-+-xtend-(abbys)/

He definitely needs to be in a high backed booster. There's no point getting a Group 1-2-3 seat, or the cushion for that Jane seat, because the harness/cushion is only up to 18kg, so he'll be too big for it anyway.

Go to Halfords or Mothercare and find the biggest sized high backed booster, that's your best bet.

Is 33inches tall correct? That's 84cm, you would need to look for a booster with a particularly low setting if so as they're mostly designed for 95cm+ in height.

The Graco one should be suitable then, my childminder used to use one for her DD when she was about 2 or 3 (and tiny!!) Confused

That's why I love the Jane one, as it is fine from group 1, and adjusts in every direction known.
