Car seats for 3-5 year olds

Hi

Need some advice re buying car seats for my nephews, 3.7 & 4.11 - average weight/height. Two big car seats + 12 yo in the back of our car will be a real squash so hoping older one, nearly 5, will be able to use a booster seat now or very soon.

I want to get seats which will last a while. Can you get big seats which later you can use as a booster only? Which boosters are the most comfortable on long journeys? What brands have worked for you?

Thanks

depending on weights then both should be able to use a high backed booster seat secured with the adult belts. My 2 found the maxi cosi rodi xr comfortable (ds is still in his age 7) - it doesnt convert to a booster cushion.

Hi,

I'd look at keeping them on high backed boosters until they are 12 years old/135cm tall and don't need a car seat any more. Here is some info www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/highback-booster-campaign

The Britax Adventure is a decent high backed booster for a good price and is one of the narrower ones so it should help with the 'squashing everyone in' situation!

Thanks - there are so many its hard to make a choice. I remember my son had a Maxi Cosi when he was a baby
