Does anyone have the Britax First Class Plus?

Just been to Halfords to try it in our car and it didn't look comfortable at all in rearfacing. Sales person told me that they are all like that rearfacing. But LO's head would fall forward when asleep and even when not asleep its kind of tilted forwards. Any ideas?

We've got one, we don't have that problem at all. She sometimes slumps forward in her Dualfix in our other car, and we found she did in her infant carrier without the wedge that it came with because of the slope of the seat, but not in the First Class. Did they install it correctly? Was the support pulled out at the front? If you search on YouTube there's an installation video. How old is your baby?

I agree, they couldn't have fitted it properly. There is a bit underneath, called the recline foot, that has to be swung forward before you put the seat in the car. I have happily used this seat from birth with two of my children, they have never had their head slumped forward.

Try You Tube for a fitting video, and go to a different shop to try one there. Independent retailers are your best bet, Halfords and Mothercare give very patchy advice. You have to be very lucky to get a salesperson who actually knows anything about the seats they sell or how to fit them.

I'm shocked. She did not install it correctly! The routing of the seatbelt was right but she didn't pull out the support thing from underneath and she didn't recline it at all. It's supposed to be fully reclined, isn't it? Shocking! I've got to go back there Thursday as they had to order one in and an expert person that covers the whole area is supposed to check that the position of the seatbelt buckle is fine. I will definitely mention it. She told me that all combination seats are tilted forward when they are rearfacing and have hardly any leg room. Well, there was no leg room.

Sorry to be thick but what do you mean by independent retailer?

DD is 12 months by the way, thought this seat was a good compromise to a ERF.

It must be fully reclined in rf mode. I would definitely complain, that's so dangerous

To be fair though we bought ours in Halfords and the advisor was really thorough and seemed to know his stuff. Mothercare, on the other hand, were awful.

Higher weight limit when rear facing. and sturdier install.

I've had this since Dd was born, and she's now 18 months and forward facing. My problem is, I think her head is too near the top of the seat. Is there another internal insert which comes out, to drop her down a bit more? If not, I think I may have to buy another seat

McPheezing if it is just the yop of her head at top of seat then she still has a while to go yet as with forward facing seats its when their eyes/ears are in line with top of seat that it is outgrown.

Does her head not need to be inside the side impact bit then

Its when the top of ears reach top of seat so the majority of her head is still within the impact protection. Rear facing seats however it is the top of head when they have outgrown seat. This is to do with what happens to the body during an impact(i used to know someone who worked in the seat industry so learnt a thing or two).
