Does anyone have the new Britax Kidfix XP SICT? It looks good, but is only available in store from Mothercare and I haven't had any luck tracking one down yet (they can't order them apparently!). I was wondering if it's significantly better than the Britax Kidfix SICT which we bought for our other car. It has a pad thing on the seatbelt which is supposed to reduce the force on the child by 30% in a ff crash.

Hi Karen, I would leave switching him until he's nearer 18kg (max weight for group 1 seats) The lower group seats are safer as long as child not over max weight for then. Plus group 1's will be comfier and (usually) also recline so sleeping is more likely. Always a bonus! We have a chunky ds1 too and that's what we've did. As a young one, your ds will be developmentally more ready for the next one if you wait for him to be a bit heavier too. HTH. X

FWIW for the rest of the thread I've always found the service and advice at mothercare (reading) absolutely first class. Gave us the above advice (ie to wait to get next seat) rather than push for a sale...

Hi those who have managed to get the seat, how have you found it? I'm looking at purchasing one for my 3 yr old daughter,
Thanks
