Would you replace carseats after a rear end shunt? no kids in car but car seats were.

Yes, you should also be able to claim the cost on the insurance.

We did (following advice here!).

We had to let the insurance company have copies of the receipts for the original seats so for once, I was glad I don't throw away my old credit card statements and receipts! They refunded in full.
