Maxi cosi or recaro?

We're expecting dc1 and have decided on the baby jogger city select as our pushchair. Now we need to decide on which car seat to get and the options are maxi cosi pebble or cabriofix or the recaro young profi plus.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice/ pros or cons for any of them.

I have been told by a few mums I know that the pebble is really heavy and to really consider weight as the main important factor when choosing so will be bearing that in mind. Any other advice would be much appreciated!

We've gone for the recaro as it has fantastic reviews, seems to last a bit longer than others and it's really quite light. I'm over the moon with the quality of it and can't wait to use it with our baby. I also really like that the back extends to make the seat bigger as the baby grows. For the price, I think it's fantastic. :)

A good bit of info we were given when buying it is that when baby's feet touch the back of the seat (of the car) it doesn't mean they have outgrown the seat. It just means they need to bend their legs a little. Often people go up to the next seat before they need to, when you could actually keep them in a rear facing (safer) seat for longer.

Thanks Heffalump! I think it's definitely between that and the maxicosi cabriofix now as I've heard the pebble is really heavy!

Can you get an isofix base with the recaro? I do really like that it extends and therefore will last longer.

Yes you can get isofix. I was really annoyed as I wanted it, but my car doesn't have isofix points! Not happy! Oh and if you get the isofix base it can be used with the next size up recaro seat if you choose that next time.

You can also get britax adapters for babyjoggers off Amazon just to add a few more car seats into the mix.
