Travel sick DS. Cleaning the beSafe IZI Combi

Apologies for mammoth post!

My DS is just 2yo and we have the ERF BeSafe IZI Combi IsoFix. He's horribly car sick and the seat is grim. I've just stripped it for the second time in 3 days but I can't get it clean. I can get the covers off (eventually). I can't however get the inside of the carcass of the seat clean. It smells horribly (especially in this weather)

I want to turn him FF as he is much less sick when FF but I really don't like the way the seat attaches when FF it seems really unstable and wobbly.

I also hate the size of the seat and how hard it is to get it in and out of my car. It's big and heavy and unwieldy. I nearly threw it out of the window earlier!!

So my question(s) are,

Is there a way to clean the whole seat out?

Can I get the seat secure when FF and if not what should I get instead?

Thanks so much if you've made it this far!
